about

By the age of 19, and having years spent working in London's fashion industry notched into his belt, Andrew Loog Oldham was a 19-year-old already working for Brian Epstein as his eyes and ears in London. Running the publicity for The Bealtes first two singles, 'Please Please Me' and 'From Me To You', Oldham was tipped off by Peter Jones of the Record Mirror about a band who were making waves at a regular gig in Richmond.

"...I missed (doing publicity), thank god, for Cilla Black, because April the 28th 1963 was the date I saw The Rolling Stones ..."

Oldham made the trip to see and hear this band for himself, and within a few days he was their manager.
Never having managed a band before wasn’t a problem...

"...Even though I knew absolutely nothing about the technical things about producing a record, I would be best person to go into the studio with them for the very simple reason that there was no fear, we were the same age, we all knew as little as each other, and we'd all be able to just get on with it. We were all capable of f$*#@ing up around each other without being embarrassing...."

Oldham goes on to give a taste of his incredible knowledge and insight about his extensive career producing, recording, writing, and living all over the world.

Currently, Andrew Oldham is a host on "Little Steven's Underground Garage" on Sirius XM.
Volume 2 of The Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra will be out early this summer as well as his third published book, "Stone Free", completing the triography of his autobiographical series of books.
